  We've had many closings on home sales and refinances, and never before had a problem. Capital Title handled our closing at the end of April in 2010, and screwed up more things than I can even recall. They made a mistake on the realtors' commissions. I received a letter from our realtor a few days after the closing saying that he'd been shorted $1700. Sure enough, when I looked at the closing papers, Capital Title made a mistake, so we had to send the realtor $1700 out of the sale proceeds. Capital Title also screwed up on getting tax records from the city. A week or so after closing, Capital Title sent us a letter saying that we owed nearly a thousand dollars more. That was more money from the sale proceeds. The mistakes they made continued to roll in for almost four months after closing. They didn't change over sewer accounts or water accounts or all sorts of other things. We kept getting bills. It's now August and we just got another bill from the water department for April 15th through July 15th, even though we closed on April 30th. I would advise anybody buying or selling a home to stay away from these clowns.
